Vector control files, 1948-1983.

The Division of Community of Environmental Protection is responsible for investigating and monitoring any populations of animals, including fish, birds, and insects, which are infected with or conveyors of diseases, and insects, which are infected with or conveyors of diseases, and constitute a nuisance menancing the public health. (Ala. Code, 22-10-1(1) [1975]). This series consists of vector control files documenting investigations and actions taken to control rats, birds, insects, and other animals creating a potential hazard to the public health. Many of the earlier records document attempts the control malaria carrying mosquitos. Typical records located in this series include correspondence, conservation records, newspaper clippings, surveys, memoranda, and reports. In 1988, the responsiblity for vector control was decentralized and moved to the counties.
